The fight against corruption is the key point of the electoral program of the Shor Party for the upcoming parliamentary elections, said the party’s representative Marina Tauber. According to her, corruption can be rooted out by introducing tribunals with jurymen. The Party “Antimafie” People’s Movement said parties that really want to fight corruption should enter Parliament, IPN reports.
“We are the only example when the party and its leader indeed struggle corruption,” stated Marina Tauber. As a solution for fighting corruption, the Shor Party suggests introducing tribunals with jurymen where people respected in society, including ordinary people, will serve on the jury.
Also, the party suggests the decisions concerning the problems of public interest should be taken at referendums. “One of the main points for us is the criminal punishment for those MPs and candidates who do not fulfil their electoral promises, which is of major importance for us. We consider the persons for posts that imply taking important decisions, such as those of police chiefs, should be elected by the people,” stated the representative of the Shor Party, noting they bank on the fact that the people will enjoy greater powers in the taking of decisions at state level.
As to the problem of migration, Marina Tauber said the Shor Party worked out a program to stimulate the return of the Moldovans who are abroad and over 100 families were helped to return home through the agency of this program. The party also drafted a legislative initiative that is designed to create favorable conditions for the Moldovan citizens to return home.
The representative of “Antimafie” Party Daniela Bodrug considers corruption can be fought by parties that really want to do this. “We want to clear the judicial system and the prosecution service so that these become an instrument for fighting corruption at institutions first of all. Political will is needed to achieve this objective,” stated the Movement’s representative.
According to her, a rule of law mission involving EU and U.S. experts should come to Moldova to supervise the national judicial system.
Also, Daniela Bodrug said that after the parliamentary elections Moldova will face a big crisis because the Socialists and the Democrats will win both in single-member constituencies and in the national constituency. “”Antimafie” Party is needed in the future Parliament for one reason - an anti-crisis political instrument that would come up with solutions is needed now that such a big crises is expected. The “Antimafie” Movement has always reacted to the threats witnessed in the sociopolitical life of the Republic of Moldova,” stated Daniela Bodrug.
If they reach Parliament, neither the Shor Party nor the Party “Antimafie” People’s Movement intend to form an alliance with someone.
The representatives of the two parties made the statements in electoral debates staged by TVR Moldova channel.
