Housing sector prepares for heating season

Seven of the 1,631 apartment buildings in Chisinau have not yet finished the preparations for the cold season, deputy mayor Vladimir Cotet announced at an ordinary meeting of the Chisinau City Hall on Monday. According to Cotet, the works in the apartment buildings administered by the House Building Cooperatives and the Privatized Dwelling Owners Associations are performed slower, especially in the districts of Buiucani and Rascani. Nevertheless, the works will be completed before the start of the heating season, the deputy mayor said. He asked the district heads’ offices to more actively engage in this activity so that the housing sector be ready for winter by the start of the heating season, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said that SA Termocom should not demand increasing the heating charges as the fuels went down in price. Usually, SA Termocom submits proposals for modifying the charges in June-July. This year, Termocom presented no document. Dorin Chirtoaca also said that the City Hall will switch to bilateral cooperation with the heat supplier so as to solve all the existing problems.
