Houses and hundreds of hectares of crops flooded in Floresti

Hundreds of hectares of crops, orchards and vineyards have been destroyed by hail in Floresti district on the first summer day. Dorina Cruc, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, said 177 homes were flooded as a result of the torrential rain. The hail damaged the windows and roofs of the mayor's office, houses and the school in Frumusica village. 82 hectares of crops were affected, Info-Prim Neo reports. The heavy rain and hail in Izvoare village destroyed 94 roof slates of the high school and kindergarten, 20 square meters of glass and 500 hectares of crops. One house was inundated. 164 hectares of crops were flooded in Iliciovca village, 217 hectares of crops in Sevirova village, and 242 hectares of orchards in Gura Cainarului village. The settlements Alexandrovca, Ivanovca, and Lunga were also affected. The damage caused by the storm are being assessed by special commissions.
