Two persons were evacuated by firefighters after a hot water pipe burst in the basement of a building situated on Renașterii Naționale Blvd in Chisinau, not far from the Circus, IPN reports.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said the call to the 112 Service was made at 12:20pm. The pipe that burst flooded the basement. A team of the Râșcani Rescue and Firefighting Department was at the scene immediately. Two woman aged 63 and 75 were helped to get out of the basement. They weren’t hurt.
The supplier Termoelectrica said it that an incident response team is repairing the heat pipe. For the period of the works, 96 buildings located in the perimeter of the streets Andrei Doga, Florica Niță, Calea Orheiului, Ceucari, Andrei Lupan, Doina, and Gheorghe Madan will be disconnected from the heat supply. The works are projected to be completed later today.
