The hot water charge will be decreased by 20%. This is provided in a decision taken by the Chisinau councilors on February 21, Info-Prim Neo reports. Under the decision, the temperature of the hot water will be reduced by 5 degrees Celsius. Thus, the costs will fall by abut 20%. SA Termocom director general Mihail Cernei said this new formula will make the hot water more accessible, given the difficult economic situation of the people. “We propose decreasing the costs of heating water by 20% and will cover all the losses that will appear. We started to lose clients as the hot water charge is rather high. We may face the situation when we will not have whom to sell hot water to,” said Mihail Cernei. Following the approved decision, a cubic meter of hot water will cost 39 lei, as against 53 lei at present. According to the director of Termocom, the new hot water charge will come into force in March. The decision was approved by a majority of votes. The Communist councilors refrained from voting.
