A census of the quality of medical services in Moldova will be taken in April – May this year. The hospitals will be assesses to determine the availability of the service and the qualifications of personnel, IPN reports.
Deputy Minister of Health Mihai Ciocanu said the census will provide a complete picture of the real situation in hospitals, which will be used to identify the existing shortcomings and the steps that should be taken to improve the system.
The data will be collected by 24 census takers and three supervisors. The process will be organized by the National Health Management Center of the Ministry of Health, with technical and financial support from the World Health Organization and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
The census will cover 70 hospitals, three of which are private.
