Hospitals are following regular schedules and medical care is being provided uninterruptedly, as measures have been taken to keep the situation under control, Mihaela Cibotaru, spokesperson for the Health Ministry, told Info-Prim Neo. In the event of a halt in gas supply, medical establishments will use alternative sources to provide warmth to the patients. Out of the 61 hospitals in the country, 27 are connected to district heating systems, while 34 produce their own heat, Mihaela Cibotaru said. Chisinau's chief doctor Mihai Moldovanu, confirmed Monday during the City Hall's ordinary meeting that the temperature in hospitals ranges from 18 to 21 degrees Celsius. Moldovanu also informed that temperatures in two medical institutions of the city are below the standard level of 18 degrees Celsius and electrical heaters are used there to keep warm.
