The homeless people in the municipality of Chisinau at request will be offered temporary shelter at night and will be taken to the Center for Homeless Persons by police cars or by vehicles of the Social Assistance Division, if need be. These will also be provided medical assistance and served breakfast and dinner. With the assistance of specialized NGOs, the homeless persons will also get free lunch, IPN reports, quoting the municipality.
A mechanism was created to establish the placement stages and to provide medical-social assistance to persons without a stable domicile from the municipality of Chisinau and to also agree the methods of identification, placement and hospitalization of homeless people. There was constituted a commission that will be responsible for the implementation of the mechanism so as to avoid the risk of hypothermia.
The Chisinau Emergencies Division will pitch tents as emergency intervention points for persons affected by hypothermia. The General Inspectorate for Emergencies said the tents will be put up when there will be -10 degrees Celsius at night.
