This year the Holy Fire will be brought to Moldova the 13th year in a row. The delegation that went to Jerusalem consists of His Holiness Vladimir, the Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and all Moldova, church officials and politicians, including the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat and his parliamentary group mates Valeriu Strelet and Angel Agache, as well as presidential adviser Ion Paduraru and the Government’s deputy secretary general Eduard Banaruc, IPN reports.
In Jerusalem, the delegation met with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem. His Beatitude welcomed the guests and appreciated their love for the holy places of Jerusalem.
On Easter night, the Orthodox Christians go to church to light their candles from the Holy Fire.
The Holy Fire will be brought to the Metropolitan Cathedral in central Chisinau between 7pm and 8pm on April 11. From there, it will be shared out to the faithful.
