The Holy Fire will be conveyed to the Republic of Moldova for the 15th time. On Holy Thursday, a delegation of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church led by His Holiness Vladimir will go to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem to bring the holy light, IPN reports.
Metropolitan Bishop Vladimir told the press that the delegation consists of ten persons, among who is President Igor Dodon. The Holy Fire will be brought by a regular Chisinau – Tel-Aviv flight and all the costs will be covered by the Moldovan Metropolitan Church.
“I would like to go to Jerusalem and I even planned to go there together with my wife. But we will see as the agenda can be yet changed,” President Dodon told the reporters.
On Easter eve, the Holy Fire will be taken to the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth” in Chisinau. It will be distributed to priests and parishioners who will spread it all over the country. This year Easter is celebrated on April 16.
