The prices of gasoline COR 95 and diesel fuel will be by almost 0.20 lei higher. Thus, after the NAER set the highest selling prices, on Tuesday a liter of gasoline COR 95 will be sold at the pump for 25 lei, while a liter of diesel fuel for 21.77 lei, IPN reports.
The National Agency for Energy Regulation said that, starting with the second half of June, the fuel prices saw a moderate increase that was within a corridor of 2-6%.
Among the factors that influenced the level of retail prices of the main standard petroleum products the previous month, the Agency pointed out the increase in Brent (+10%) and Platts (+8% for gasoline and +13% for diesel) quotations as a result of an increasing consumption due to the summer holidays.
Among other factors are the depreciation of the national currency against the US dollar (+1.8%) and the adjustment, as of July 1, 2024, of the specific trade margin in the size of the inflation rate (+3.5%).
“The price increases of the last few days do not represent a systemic phenomenon and are rather the characteristics of a market recovery after a period of cheapening that lasted for about two months. It should be noted that in April the price of gasoline reached the level of 26.40 lei/liter, while that of diesel fuel - 22.32 lei/liter, later decreasing to 24.12 lei/liter for gasoline and 20.35 lei/liter for diesel fuel,” reads the Agency’s press release.
