The hoar frost of last week caused the breaking of 2,900 trees in Chisinau. The tree branches that broke under the pressure of ice damaged 28 vehicles parked under trees. In the January 27 meeting of officials of Chisinau subdivisions and services, head of the Green Areas Association Eliferii Haruta said it is for the first time in the last 50 years that the hoar frost caused such great damage in Chisinau, IPN reports.
Starting with January 20, more than 500 people worked in all the districts of Chisinau to remove the broken branches and trees.
The works go on. According to estimates, 10 more days will be needed to collect all the broken branches in parks and the main streets of Chisinau.
