History of Moldovan radio in Vsevolod Revutski’s book

The 80-year history of the radio in Moldova is related in the book of a veteran of the institution, Vsevolod Revutski, which is entitled “Pages of a Covered Path”, Info-Prim Neo reports. The book is a continuation of the work “How it was …” by the same author that was issued in 2008, on the occasion of 50 years of the foundation of the National Television. The new book describes the evolution of the radio before 1941 in the republic created by the USSR on the left bank of the Nistru River and its influence on the residents of Bessarabia, how a radio station appeared at the intersection of the Chisinau streets Pushkin and Mateevici in 1939, and how the Radiofication and Radio Broadcasting Committee was set up after Bessarabia joined the Soviet Union. The author speaks about the radio activity in Moldova during the Second World War. Besides the common radio in Moscow, there was created the Moldovan radio station that broadcast programs in ‘Moldovan’ and other languages. Referring to the period after August 24, 1944, Vsevolod Revutski said the cable radio was initially restored in Soroca, Balti and Tiraspol and then, in September, in Chisinau. In the 1960s, the radio station moved to a new building located at 64 Hancesti St together with the national television channel, which only started to develop. Famous persons, presenters, journalists and technicians provided the listeners with information and programs during 18 hours. The book “Pages of a Covered Path” is intended for those who want to know more about how the National Radio appeared and developed.
