Historical battles and national music on Chisinau’s Day

Persons dressed in Dacian and Roman soldiers, King Mihai the Brave, Queen Maria of Romania and other historical personages will stage a march in the Great National Assembly Square on the City’s Day that is celebrated on October 14, IPN reports.

Culture Division head Lucia Culev Monday said the cultural events organized on Chisinau’s Day already started. On October 7, the third International Festival of Piano Duets “Amber Grape” opens at the National Philharmonic with the works of composer and pianist Oleg Negruta.

On October 14, Chisinau will host 32 official delegations from 13 countries. The City’s Day will start with a service at the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth”. Afterward, the Academic Folk Dances Group “Joc” will give a performance in the Great National Assembly Square. Baritone Andrei Jelihovschi and soprano Mariana Bulicanu will sing the anthem of Chisinau.

The Guard of Honor of the Union Museum of Romania’s Alba Iulia will stage a historical battle between the Dacians and the Romans. There will be presented fighting tactics and famous personalities.

In the evening, the Orchestra of the Advahov Brothers will give a recital together with national singers. The special invitee is Romanian singer Andra.

After October 14, the cultural activities will continue. On October 23, Anastasia Lazariuc will give a jubilee concert at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac”.
