The financial support provided to a farmer will rise from 3milion lei to 5 million lei a year, while the subsidies intended for groups of producers will increase by 50% following amendments made to the regulations concerning the distribution of the resources of the National Agriculture and Rural Development Fund, IPN reports.
The new provisions are designed to ensure the more efficient use of the funds by directing these to areas with high value added. The augmentation of the support offered to a farmer or a group of producers will create preconditions for improving the postharvest infrastructure and will open up possibilities of entering new markets.
The measures will also contribute to consolidating groups of producers, will motivate the farmers to form new groups, will stimulate exports and will increase the quality of products.
The subsidies in the areas with an increased impact in agriculture will also be raised. This way the state will financially support those who will develop businesses in the fruit growing and winegrowing sectors, offering more opportunities to young entrepreneurs so that these invest in rural businesses.
Investments in the development of the animal-breeding sector to increase the volume and quality of milk produced in Moldova and to obtain permission to export meat, hen eggs and poultry to the EU are also encouraged.
