Teachers’ pays will be raised by 8.6% from September 1, IPN reports, quoting amendments approved by the Cabinet to the Law on Pay Grades in the Budget-Funded Sector.
The average monthly salary in the national economy this year was projected at 5,050 lei. The average monthly salary of teachers in the fourth quarter of last year was 4,650 lei. Thus, the 8.6% rise will push teachers’ salaries up to the level of the average monthly salary forecast for 2016.
When the pays are raised, a rector will get 5,370 lei, a university professor – 4,030 lei, while a university lecturer – 3,625 lei. In preschool education, the salaries of teachers with higher education will increase to 2,955 lei.
