The Ministry of Education initiated consultations in a move to improve the content of the school textbooks and increase their relevance. For the purpose, all the school textbooks proposed for reediting will be assessed by a group of experts so as to eliminate the errors and inconsistencies from them, IPN reports, quoting a communique of the Ministry.
Deputy Minister of Education Igor Grosu said by this initiative the Ministry aims to ensure a participatory process so as to improve the quality of textbooks and the attractiveness of learning.
As many as 38 textbook titles will be reviewed at the first stage, until September 1, 2015. Next week, the Ministry of Education will launch a platform by which the students and teachers will be able to state their opinions and to help the Ministry produce textbooks of a high quality.
The textbooks for the fifth-ninth grades and the tenth-twelfth grades are reedited once in five years, while those for primary classes once in four years.
