High-voltage line failure causes outage in parts of Chisinau

Numerous addresses in and Chisinau's districts Buiucani, Rascani and Centru and in the suburban towns of Durlesti were left without electricity after a power failure of the 110kV line between Straseni and Chisinau CET-1. Vasile Gribincea, spokesperson for the utility Gas Natural Fenosa, told Info-Prim Neo that there were two power failures between 10.28 AM- 10.38 AM and 11.32 AM and 11.36 AM. “The line is being checked to find out the cause. The power was out automatically twice and users were affected. Now, they all have access to electricity again”, said Gribincea. The energy utility warns users to be careful in such situations and to respect all safety rules in order to avoid unwanted consequences. 200 trolleybuses in Chisinau stopped because of the power outages, but the circulation was resumed shortly.
