Heavyweights of the ruling parties have contradictory opinions about the formation of a government coalition in Parliament and of potential coalitions at local level. The issue was discussed in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.

Deputy chairman of the Party of Socialists Ion Ceban excludes any coalition at central and local levels. “We will never form a coalition with those who stole billions of lei from banks. The probability that we will win the Chisinau City Hall and will gain a majority of seats in the Municipal Council by the first round is rather high,” he stated.

Deputy head of the Liberal Party Valeriu Munteanu reiterated Liberals’ conditions for forming a coalition with the Liberal Democratic Party and the Democratic Party. “I don’t know with whom they discussed the formation of a collation, probably with Voronin. We will not form a coalition until those to blame for the theft of billions of lei are punished, the stolen money is restored and a person from outside the country is named as prosecutor general,” he said.

The Liberal Democratic Party’s deputy chairman Vadim Pistrinciuc considers things will change in time. “I wouldn’t be so categorical. Practice shows that most of the times the councilors from different parties vote together. Such statements are made for the people. We called Ghimpu today, but he didn’t answer the phone. We will invite him to negotiations the coming days,” he stated.
