The Chisinau City Hall banned the movement of heavy trucks along the streets of the capital city between 10am and 8pm on days when temperatures exceed over 30˚C, IPN reports.
The measure imposed by the municipality is designed to protect the asphalt layer of public roads from the impact made by units of transport weighing over 20 tonnes, it is said in a press release.
The limitations imposed during dog days do not cover the public passenger transport, units of transport conveying food products, materials that are to be used to prevent or deal with exceptional situations, vehicles transporting goods in controlled temperatures and those involved in the rehabilitation of roads, within the boundaries of building sites.
