Heating season opened in Chisinau

The residents of Chisinau municipality connected to the centralized heating system will be supplied with heat in 4-5 days. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca signed the ordinance to open the heating season on October 8, Info-Prim Neo reports. “It is true that the heating season is opened earlier this year, but the temperatures dropped and are expected to drop further,” Dorin Chirtoaca said in a news conference. The heat suppliers will need several days to prepare the heating system. Thus, the residents of Chisinau and the suburban settlements will receive heat at the beginning of next week. All the apartment buildings will be supplied with heat, even those whose dwellers have debts for heat. The mayor said it is for the first time that the level of payments for heat is 93%. The tariff is 821 lei per gigacalorie. Dorin Chirtoaca stated he cannot yet say if it will be raised after January 1, when the purchase price of the Russian gas will be higher. As the previous year, the families on monthly incomes lower than 1,450 lei per member will be paid 40% of the heating bill, while the persons living in suburbs, who heat their homes with gas, wood or coal, will receive by 250 lei. Last year, the heating season started early in November.
