Today could be last day of the heating season for Chisinau schools and administrative buildings. The Municipality decided that only kindergartens and hospitals would continue to be heated. At the same time, the heating utility warns that such a measure could seriously affect the pipes, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The City Hall isn’t heated anymore and it’s ok, nobody is freezing here. For some consumers, heat will be provided on request. However, the situation in public institutions is different. In the case of children and ill persons, we’ll heat those institutions, but not the rest”, said Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca.
He mentioned that the heating season will continue in blocks where dwellers request it. Heat will be provided only at night.
Termocom manager Mihail Cernei is worried that repeatedly connecting and disconnecting blocks from heat carrier might damage the heating system
According to rules, heating is stopped after average air temperatures rise to 8 degrees Celsius three days in a row. Midweek temperatures are expected to drop to -3 degrees at night.
