The Chisinau administration decided that the housing stock in the municipality will be connected to the centralized heating system by October 28 or November 1, IPN reports.
Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said many of the residents of the municipality feel uncomfortable because the walls are cold and because the neighbors do not want the heating season to be opened. “At the beginning of next week, when the temperatures are lower, the heating system must be already on. If the weather forecasts change, we will postpone the opening of the heating season until the middle of next week. Thus, there are two time limits by which the people must start to be supplied with heat – October 28 and November 1,” he stated.
The heating system is to be launched 2-3 days beforehand. Vice director of the public heat utility SA Termocom Vasile Leu said all the networks in the municipality are ready for the heating season. Currently, over 44,000 apartments in Chisinau have debts of over 1,000 lei for the heat consumed during the 2012-2013 heating season.
