Chisinau's heat and hot water utility could start delivering heat supply next week. Termocom vice director Vasile Leu told the City Hall's meeting on Monday that the utility is technically ready to open the heating season for both public buildings and apartment buildings if temperatures drop towards the end of this week, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vasile Leu said it would take the utility just one day to make the heat supply reach all radiators across the city that are connected to the district heating system. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said that, unlike previous years, this year apartment buildings will most likely be connected to the heat supply system simultaneously with the educational and medical establishments. Municipal health chief Luminita Suveica said medical institutions are 96% ready to receive heat supply. Now the average temperature in hospitals is 20 degrees, and air conditioners are used where necessary. Education chief Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb said the heating season in kindergartens should start next week, and in schools it may start after the one-week autumn vacation, beginning on October 29. The district heads said that considering the fair temperatures they so far haven't received requests from residents to start the heating season, but they think heat supply should start being delivered next week in order not to allow walls to dissipate warmth.
