Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca on April 1 made an order to close the heating season in the municipality of Chisinau. SA Termocom will stop the centralized heat supply during the day. But the end-users will continue to have hot running water, IPN reports.
The heating season was closed following the high temperatures recorded during the last few days. According to forecasts, the weather will constantly grow warmer. The mayor said that though it was decided to switch to summer time, the hospitals and education institutions will be connected to the heat supply if need be.
The 2012 - 2013 heating season was opened on October 29, 2012. The municipality provided cold-month allowances to about 33,000 families from Chisinau and its suburbs.
