The municipal authorities Monday will decide when the heating season in Chisinau will be closed, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Chisinau administration and the heat supplier Termocom received a large number of applications, whereby housing stock managers demand that the buildings be disconnected from the heat supply. At the same time, the hospitals and schools say they still need heat.
Termocom director Mihail Cernei said the heating season can be closed only when no end-user is supplied with heat, including the healthcare, child protection and education institutions.
According to the Health Division's head Luminita Suveica, the hospitals should be supplied with heat for at least one week more. She said that some of the patients, mainly the children and the persons suffering from respiratory infections, can be seriously affected if there is no heat supply.
Mihail Cernei said Termocom cannot switch to the summer heat supply regime on the basis of the hot water supply system, as Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca demanded earlier. He also said that only a part of the healthcare institutions can receive heat according to the summer regime.
The heating season is closed when the temperatures during three consecutive days, between 6pm and 6am, are higher than 8 degrees Celsius.
