A company offers to thermally insulate an apartment building in Chisinau free of charge so as to convince the population of the benefits of insulation using this example. The building selected for the pilot project is located at the intersection of Stephan the Great Blvd. and Ismail St, deputy mayor of Chisinau Vlad Cotet said at Monday's meeting of the City Hall.
Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca suggested choosing by a nine-story building in every district of Chisinau and insulating them, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Analyses show that the heat consumption in thermally insulated buildings is by 50-60% lower. The consumption in apartments with autonomous heating systems in uninsulated buildings is 450 cubic meters, while in similar apartments situated in insulated buildings is 180 cubic meters,” said the commercial director of the heat supplier Termocom SA, Mihai Arusoi.
According to him, a square meter of apartment in the building No. 38/2 located on Maria Dragan St in December and January was heated at a cost of about 7.5 lei, while in uninsulated buildings – of 13-15 lei.
The population will contribute money to the implementation of the buildings insulation project, but the size of the contribution has not been yet set. The local authorities will allocate money from the City Hall's reserve fund.
