The foreign affairs committee of the German Bundestag, headed by Gunther Krichbaum, will hold hearings on the European agenda of Moldova, chairman of the Moldovan Parliament’s commission on foreign affairs and European integration Igor Corman announced in a news conference held jointly with his German counterpart in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. Igor Corman said the Moldovan-German relations, which are very consistent, were the main subject discussed with Gunther Krichbaum in Chisinau. They also discussed Moldova’s European course and the prospects of signing the Association Agreement with the EU, as well as the political crisis experienced by Moldova. Gunther Krichbaum welcomed the meeting of the AEI leaders under the President’s auspices and voiced hope that the political crisis will be overcome quickly and the Democratic forces will continue the internal reforms and the European road. According to him, this is in the interests of the people, who expect that the daily problems will be solved. The German official considers that the best solution in the current situation is to reach a compromise and avoid early legislative elections that will mean loss of time in the reformation process. As to the prospects of signing the Association Agreement with the EU, Igor Corman and Gunther Krichbaum said that the negotiations and work on this document meet the terms set by Chisinau and Brussels and there are no delays. However, the efforts should not be concentrated on the date and place of the signature, but on the content and functionality of this document, which has about 1,300 pages of text.
