Hearing in Botnari-Papuc case postponed

The hearing where the judgment in the Botnari-Papuc case was to be passed was put off until the end of January. Prosecutor Sergiu Rosu has told Info-Prim Neo that the hearing that was to be held at the Chisinau Court of Appeals was postponed at the request of a judge. The reasons weren’t made public. The next hearing will take place on January 30. Former Minister of the Interior Gheorghe Papuc and former commissioner general Vladimir Botnari are accused of negligence during the April 2009 events, which resulted in the death of Valeriu Boboc. The first court, the Centru Court, acquitted them. The prosecutor said that if the generals are cleared this time again, they will go to the Supreme Court of Justice. The Botnari-Papuc case was started in June 2010.
