President Maia Sandu signed a decree by which the Order of Honor is conferred posthumously on 134 health workers of Moldova, IPN reports.
In a post on Facebook, Maia Sandu said the awards were conferred in connection with the Professional Health Worker’s and Pharmacist’s Day in homage and gratitude for the courage, devotion and spirit of sacrifice shown by these people”. “They are those who lost their life at the workplace during the COVID-19 pandemic,” noted President Sandu.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection for June 17 reported 57 new cases of COVID-19 and three deaths associated with SARS-CoV-2. Two of the infections are among health workers.
As many as 160 persons confirmed with COVID-19 are now in the national hospitals. Of them, 46 are in a very serious case and 11 of these were put on a ventilator. Moldova so far got 255,900 cases of COVID-19.
