The Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection came with a reaction following the suspension of the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine in Austria and Denmark. It noted the specialists are following continuously the official reports and results of the monitoring conducted by responsible institutions. Also, following the vaccination of over 9,000 persons in Moldova, only slightly over 300 minor side effects were reported, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Ministry says that the finding of the Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee of the European Medicine Agency show the number of thromboembolic events in persons vaccinated with AstraZeneca is not higher than that among the general population.

“The AstraZeneca vaccine is listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization and is used in the UK, the European Union, Australia. Millions of doses of vaccine have been administered so far and the efficiency and safety of the vaccine among the general population were confirmed.”

Moldova so far has used only AstraZeneca vaccines against COVID-19.
