The Research Institute for the Mother and Child Health will be reorganized by merging with the National Health Center for Reproduction and Medical Genetics, and the National Clinical Hospital will be reorganized by merging with the Cardiovascular Surgery Center, under a Government decision. Health Minister Andrei Usatii said the reorganization aims to improve administrative management and improve the quality of services for everybody. “This reorganization does not imply a personnel cut. Moreover, there are about 800 vacant doctor and nurse jobs. The idea is to improve management, to cut spending. There's no need to have two accounting departments, for example. The personnel will certainly not be affected, maybe except for a few directors”, assured the minister.
