The administrators of the public medical-sanitary institutions, created by the Ministry of Health (MH) or by the local public authorities will be appointed and dismissed by MH. The Parliament approved a draft Law in this respect on Friday, July 20. It generated disputes among the MPs. At present, according to the legislation, the local public authorities coordinate the appointment and dismissal of the administrators of the territorial medical subdivisions, who are appointed and dismissed by the specialised central authorities. This provision was excluded, because, the authors of the draft Law consider it leads to the contradictory interpretation of this notion by the local public authorities. The draft Law was not supported by the opposition MPs who said that in this way it is aimed at dismissing the hospital administrators who supported the opposition parties in elections. The representatives of the PCRM denied these accusations and voted for the approval of the draft Law in first reading. According to the Law, MH will approve the way the heads of the public medical-sanitary institutions are selected.
