Head of Swedish Parliament comes to Chisinau

The Speaker of the Parliament of Sweden Per Westerberg will be paying an official visit to Moldova on January 30-31. He will be accompanied by a parliamentary delegation, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Moldovan Parliament’s press service. In the evening of January 30, the delegation will have a meeting with Head of Parliament Marian Lupu. The Swedish officials will also meet with representatives of the parliamentary groups and the members of the Moldova – Sweden Parliamentary Friendship Group as well as with Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca. The Parliament of Sweden included Moldova in the list of states with whose legislatures it will implement cooperation programs in 2012. A coordination group was created within the Swedish Riksdag, which will draft the parliamentary cooperation program with Moldova. Per Westerberg will visit Moldova for the first time. Moldova’s Speaker Marian Lupu paid an official visit to Stockholm in December 2007.
