The head of a local vitality examination council located in northern Moldova was arrested on suspicion of passive corruption. According to the National Anticorruption Center, the denouncer said the man asked for and received €300 bribe for setting the disability degree and permanent incapacity for work, IPN reports.
Following special investigation measures, the servant was caught red-handed and was placed under arrest for 72 hours for passive corruption.
The man faces five to ten years in jail, a fine of 120,000 to 160,000 lei and ban on holding public posts or performing particular activities for a period of seven to ten years.
