Regardless of the political situation, the attention of those involved in the process of implementing reforms must center on the effects on the population, the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola said within an event on February 4, IPN reports.
The ambassador stated that the authorities must focus on the implementation of reforms that would ensure Moldova’s development. The expected results are not yet visible to the institutions of the European Union.
According to Pirkka Tapiola, the implementation of a new law concerning the bodies of the prosecution service will be an important step. The fight against corruption is another objective on which the authorities must focus in the process of meeting the EU norms. The quality of democracy in the country will determine the future of the relations between Moldova and the EU.
