Head of EBRD Office completes duties in Moldova

The Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Office in Moldova Dmitri Gvindadze is completing his duties. On this occasion, Prime Minister Pavel Filip thanked the European official for the EBRD’s assistance in implementing programs to modernize the country, in particular for the personal involvement in promoting the European standards in the national economy, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, in a meeting the two officials conferred on the impact of the reforms promoted by the executive on the economic development of the county and the fight against corruption, including the bill to limit abuses by law enforcement agencies on business entities.

Dmitri Gvindadze said the EBRD remains a reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova. He welcomed the Government’s efforts to strengthen the banking sector and to create favorable conditions for the development of businesses. In particular, he appreciated the work done by the Economic Council working under the Prime Minister, saying this platform is efficient in ensuring a permanent dialogue with the national business community.

Dmitri Gvindadze took up his duties in May 2016, succeeding Julia Otto.
