The head of Dubasari district Grigore Polichinski was questioned in the presence of his lawyers and then the prosecutor issued an order for his release, but he was banned from leaving the country. The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office charged officially Grigore Polichinski on September 28. This was arrested one day earlier on charges of abuse of power and causing of considerable damage to public interests, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the evidence accumulated by prosecutors shows that the head of Dubasari district since 2014 has signed with a company contracts for the purchase of food and accommodation services in the absence of at least three bidders, causing thus damage of 439,000 lei to the local budget.

Grigore Polichinski is also accused of ordering actions that unjustifiably led to the rise in the monthly salary of the district head by 1,296 lei and in the monthly salary of deputy district heads by 1,100 lei. The damage caused as a result was estimated at about 55,000 lei.

The district head is also suspected of issuing illegally over 65 orders to provide different increments, bonuses to the salary and presents, causing considerable damage to the Dubasari District Council’s budget and of illegally approving the payment of salary bonuses for keeping the state secret to seven employees, causing damage of over 47,000 lei to the local budget.

Also, he did damage of over 700,000 lei for not taking measures to collect the rent for the use by the commercial organization SRL “Casa pescarilor” of real estate situated on an area of 2.3 ha.
