Vasile Costiuc, who heads the Political Party “Democracy at Home”, warns the leaders of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” not to accept an agreement with the authorities whose resignation they seek as they will thus compromise the protests of the people of good faith. In a news conference at IPN, the party’s leader said that according to some of the members of the Platform with whom he discussed, their leaders intend to propose an alternative government and this could be voted in.

According to Vasile Costiuc, the leaders of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” in a new protest on September 13 will propose an alternative government that will be voted in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau. Afterward, Parliament will vote in this government as a result of a compromise with the protest organizers.

Vasile Costiuc said that under the reached agreements, former minister of education Maia Sandu will be nominated for Prime Minister, one of the Platform leaders Andrei Nastase – for prosecutor general, while others who appeared before the crowd will be named ministers.

If the Platform reaches an agreement with the authorities and forms a provisional government, the Party “Democracy at Home” pledges to take over the protests. The party’s leader said he stayed in the Dignity Tent in the central square of Chisinau for a week and protested, but a number of questions appeared in his mind after he discussed with members of the Platform.

The protests organized by the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” continue for a week. A new large-scale protest is to be mounted in the Great National Assembly Square on September 13. The protesters demand that the government should resign and that early elections should be held. None of the senior government officials accepted to resign.
