Hancesti Doctors announce new protests

The doctors from the Hancesti district hospital say they will protest on Sunday, repeatedly, against the order of the Health Ministry appointing a new director of the medical institution. The action is said to be joined by 500 people, says Petru Cibotaru, appointed in this position by the Hancesti District Council. According to him, the protesters will ask to let him do his job, Info-Prim Neo reports. The action is scheduled to start at 09.00 and will last about an hour. The doctors will march from the district hospital to the Sovereignty Square where they will hold a meeting. The conflict appeared when the Health Ministry announced a contest to select the director of the hospital, although the District Council – the founder of the institution – already appointed Petru Cibotaru. According to Cibotaru, the contest announced by the Ministry will have two pretenders only. One of them has already died and that is why the Ministry announced another contest. Out of four candidate, Alexei Zatovcen was selected. Now the Hancesti hospital has two directors, one of them appointed by the Ministry and the other by the District Council. The hospital is in this situation for about two months. According to Petru Cibotaru, the Health Minister, Larisa Catrinici, asked him to give up the function. “The Ministry told me nothing is to be done by me here, and if I live they will find a job for me elsewhere, “ he told Info-Prim Neo. Earlier, Petru Cibotaru has worked in that position in the hospital.
