Almost half of the people in Moldova own computers or have one in the household and have access to the Internet, shows the latest Public Opinion Barometer, Info-Prim Neo reports. 49.3% of respondents answered yes to the question whether they have a computer at home. Most of them are young people, with a medium or high level of education. 49% said they had access to the Internet. Most of them are young and educated, from urban zones, and with a high socioeconomic status. According to BOP data, 88% of them said they have Internet at home, 16.8% have Internet on their phones and15.1% have mobile Internet modems. 12.8% use Internet at work, 8.7% in education institutions and 8.2% use public wi-fi. The Public Opinion Barometer was commissioned by the Institute of Public Policies and was carried out by the Center of Sociological Investigations and Marketing CBS-AXA between October 30 and November 12 on a sample of 1237, with a sampling error margin of ±2.8%.
