Gumenita's lawyer demands stopping trial

Ion Vazdoaga, lawyer for the former Chisinau police chief Iacob Gumenita, Monday filed two applications, demanding that the trial be stopped as the legal case was opened with violations. Plaintiff Damian Hancu's lawyer Teo Carnat has told Info-Prim Neo that the applications were rejected. The prosecutor and the seven plaintiffs classed them as groundless. “Such applications are aimed at delaying the trial and misleading the people about the essence of the case,” said the lawyer. The hearing was postponed until April 29 as the representative of the Ministry of the Interior and three more persons were absent.
