The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research worked out instructions for assessing the development of the child at the early education stage and proposed this for public consultations, IPN reports.
The Institutional Multidisciplinary Commission will be responsible for the initial assessment. With the written consent of the parent or a legal representative, the child will be monitored during 14 days to identify eventual developmental disorders, learning difficulties and behavioral problems that would necessitate additional intervention.
Depending on the assessment results, the district/municipal psycho-pedagogical assistance service will recommend the form of inclusion in group and institution activities that can be full, partial or occasional.
A complex assessment for children with special educational needs will follow to determine the form of educational inclusion and educational support programs.
If particular developmental difficulties are identified in a certain area as a result of the complex assessment of the child and long-term observation is needed, a specific assessment will be recommended.
For children with special educational needs, the state will cover the costs for early education and care services in public institutions, including for all types of assessment stipulated in the methodology for assessing the development of the child.
