“I do not hold the post of mayor on an interim basis. I’m deputy mayor. The mayor general hasn’t been suspended from post,” deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu specified in the June 5 meeting of officials of municipal services and divisions, IPN reports.
The deputy mayor said he can sign documents that refer to his area of activity, not yet financial documents. The power to sign financial documents can be delegated by the mayor general by an order.
Nistor Grozavu also said that if there are documents that require the signature of the mayor general, these will be sent to Dorin Chirtoaca, who is under house arrest.
Nistor Grozavu is investigated in the pay parking lots case, as the mayor general is. Last week he was released from house arrest under judicial control.
