Group of Moldovan farmers visits Romania to learn good agricultural practices

15 farmers from Falesti raion, during 10-11 June 2006, are paying a study visit in Botosani judets (Romania), to learn about the experience of their colleagues in promoting and applying good agricultural practices, environment-friendly. The visit is organized by the “Cutezatorul” Association from Falesti.
According to the Association, within the visit, the Moldovan farmers will participate together with the farmers from Botosani at a seminar on manufacturing organic products and will meet and discuss with the members of Euroconcept Association and the Center for Agricultural Consultancy.
As well, the farmers will pay a visit to the agricultural plots of a farmer from Bucecea locality and to the Natural Cultural Complex from Ipotesti were the farmers will assist to the commemoration events dedicated to the poet Mihai Eminescu.
The visit is organized within the frameworks of the project “Reducing pollution of the Danube reservoir by promoting good agricultural practices, environment-friendly”. The project is implemented in partnership with the Euroconcept Association from Botosani and with the financial support of UNDP and the Global Environment Fund.
Previously, within the same project, the participants benefited of three information and instruction seminars on the issue, presented by dr. hab. in agricultural sciences, Boris Boincean, the head of the Research Institute “Selectia”. They also paid a visit to two experimental demonstrative plots, to which were applied non-polluting practices for growing sunflower and sugar beet hybrids.
