The initiative group for compiling the people’s list “ProReunion – ProEurope” calls upon the unionist personalities to run in the February 24, 2018 parliamentary elections  under a common list.

In a news conference at IPN, first-pro-rector of the Academy of Public Administration Andrei Groza said the proposal to form a common people’s list was submitted to the leaders of ten unionist parties and 15 civil society organizations that plead for the union. Until now, only the Party “New Historical Option” accepted the method of forming the list by secret ballot. “Those who want to run will be initially written in alphabetical order. Later, in a National Assembly of those who plead for the reunion, the order on the electoral listel be agreed by secret ballot,” stated Doctor of History Andrei Groza.

Chairman of the civil society “Dacia” based on Ciocana distort Vasile Nastas said that all the parties that were voted during the 28 years of independence showed they came to Parliament only to satisfy their economic interests. “The people’s list we suggest is an alternative to the parties that disappointed. It is a list open to all the upright persons who think about the country’s future,” he stated.

Doctor-engineer Vasile Onceanu said he joined this initiative in order to contribute to the swifter reunification of the country. “The longer they delay the country’s reunification, the bigger will be the consequences of this delay,” he noted, adding there is no other solution than the reunification and the citizens should become involved and support this idea.

Publicist and writer Vlad Pohilă noted that the Romanian culture will be saved by the reunion. “Now the Romanian language, culture and arts are in danger in the Republic of Moldova. The government of Moldova, instead of protecting the national culture and the Romanian language, is preoccupied with the organization of festivals that promote their businesses in agriculture,” stated the publicist.

According to the initiative group, a number of personalities from the Republic of Moldova have joined the people’s list. Among these are: general Ion Costaș, historian Anatol Petrencu, lawyer Alexandru Kisnenko, and historian Ilie Șendrea.
