A group of doctors joined the extraterritorial organization of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova “For Independence and European Integration”, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the PLDM's press service. Academician Gheorghe Tabarna said they decided to join the PLDM because this parties pursues a balanced, objective and pragmatic policy. “This period is very important for the destiny of our people. Therefore, we, the doctors and health scientists, cannot remain indifferent,” said academician Gheorghe Paladi. According to doctor habilitate Adrian Usatyi, the PLDM is the party that fulfills the promises made to the voters. “Among the first successes achieved in the European integration process are the implementation of the Convention on Small-Scale Border Traffic, removal of the barbed wire fence from the Moldovan-Romanian border, guaranteeing of the human rights, direct election of the head of state,” he said. The statement on joining the PLDM made public by professor Valeriu Istrati says the specialists from the healthcare sector will actively engage in the fight for Moldova's future as part of the PLDM's team. The doctors said the Communist who ruled the country during eight years divided the society, made Moldova become the poorest country in Europe and seriously damaged the country's image at international level, whereas the Filat Government carries out fast and efficient reforms aimed at overcoming the deep crisis that hit Moldova. The statement was signed by academicians Diomid Gherman, Gheorghe Paladi and Gheorghe Tabarna, doctors habilitate Victor Cojocaru, Adrian Usatyi, Valeriu Istrati, Vasile Jovmir, Marin Rotaru, Anatol Taran, Boris Granaci, Andrei Badan, Mihail Bors, Dumitru Dvorniciuc, and doctoral candidate Dorin Lysyi. The extraterritorial organization “For Independence and European Integration” was founded by members of the first Parliament of Moldova, academicians, people of culture and representatives of the Moldovan diaspora on June 19 to help the Liberal Democratic Party win the parliamentary and presidential elections that will take place this autumn.
