The students of the “Grigore Vieru” Lyceum in Bacioi commune celebrated the birthday of the late poet, February 14, with a recital of poetry and music based on his lyrics.
Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, head of the Chisinau municipal division for education, youth and sport, told IPN that the lyceum's festivity hall was overcrowded by the inhabitants of the commune and the guests of the event.
“It was a simple and special holiday, because Grigore Vieru liked it like that. He always carried the truth on his lips and love in his heart”, said Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb.
There are two schools in Chisinau that bear the poet's name. On February 14, he would have turned 79.
