Communist MP Grigore Petrenco was elected vice president of the Party of the European Left, while Irina Vlah became a member of the party's Executive Bureau, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the PCRM. The third congress of the Party of the European Left was held in Paris on December 3-5. It was attended by delegations and representatives of about 40 parties. The main issue on the agenda was the adoption of the joint plan of action for the next years. In the European Parliament, the Party of the European Left is represented by the members of the Group of the United European Left/Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL). The party brings together left parties from the EU and such Eastern European countries as Moldova, Belarus and Turkey. The Party of the European Left pleads for the unification of the left political forces from all over Europe and for building a social Europe where the rights and fundamental freedoms will be above the interests of the capital and those who represent it
