“Green Alliance” provides support to Dorin Chirtoaca

The Chisinau local organization of the Ecologist Party of Moldova “Green Alliance” will support the Liberal Party’s candidate for mayor of the capital city Dorin Chirtoaca. The announcement was made in a news conference at Info-Prim Neo on May 25. “We want a mayor with European views promoting the national values, who will aim to solve all the problems of the Chisinau residents and the municipality in general so that Chisinau becomes a European capital of an European state,” said Gheorghe Cebotari, acting head of the Ecologist Party’s Chisinau local organization. According to the secretary general of the “Green Alliance” Andrei Dumbraveanu, there is certain autonomy in the party, which allows the Chisinau local organization to take such a decision. He said that the decisions reached by the party’s local organizations in the electoral period are subsequently approved by the Standing Bureau and the National Council of the “Green Alliance”. Andrei Dumbraveanu also said that the Ecologist Party has never been against the interests of the population of Moldova, including the residents of Chisinau. The decision to support Dorin Chirtoaca forms part of the values on which the party lays emphasis. “Chirtoaca continues the changes initiated by Nicolae Costin. He is young and we support him in the steps that he takes in the historical, ecological, cultural and social spheres in the municipality of Chisinau. Our decision is politically mature and we urge the people to support it,” said the party’s secretary general. The head of the local organization in Botanica district Valentin Olaru said the decision to throw their support to Dorin Chirtoaca is based on the current mayor’s accomplishments. “The members of our organization want to live in a prosperous and clean city. In order to achieve these objectives, we need a mayor with modern viewpoints on how to develop the city. Among the candidates for mayor, Dorin Chirtoaca implemented most of the projects aimed at improving the ecological situation in the town,” said Valentin Olaru. According to the data presented at the conference, in every district of Chisinau there are by about 200 active members of the Ecologist Party “Green Alliance” who will vote for Dorin Chirtoaca.
